Occupy Wall Street is still going on. Recently coordinated evictions on OWS camps was launched. Coordinated between 18 U.S. cities with involvement from DHS and FBI. Sad. People are still going strong though.

I am very easily wrapped up in all of this. It was a great reminder this past weekend when we were staying in Marion (for Eric and Alysia's wedding) to hear pastor Ryan say that our economy is not the world's economy. To expand further, this nation is not our nation, this kingdom is not our kingdom.

Really trying to seek out what I want to be doing in life, but I seem to be seeking all the places but the place that matter most.

The Revolution Is Here.

The revolution I've always wanted is actually upon us. Occupy Wall Street has started what I believe to be a new cultural revolution. Something the United States has not seen since the 1960's. Though tempted to compare the two, I believe this new movement to be different in many ways. To be short, it is corporate greed at the root of it all.

Even now as I watch thousands of people live protesting in Times Square, it doesn't seem real. Watching it live, crazy. Earlier this year I watched the revolution in Egypt while I was at work. Me sitting across the world in a nice office, watching people in Egypt 'fight for their freedom'.

I sit here in confusion, though knowing the right things. These protests have a good world label slapped on them, at least in my view. But nations will come and go, and even if the country collapses tomorrow, God's Kingdom stands forever. I should obviously be investing in eternity.

Perhaps the two can come together for me, we will see.

God certainly has blessed though, my beautiful wife reading The Shack and our curious little kitty sniffing the candle.

Unexpected Post

It seems I never publish anything I write here any more, I think I deem it too personal.

Well maybe this one will make it through. I am at home right now looking out a beautiful window to see the not so beautiful day as some might call it. But it is beautiful. I am 10 stories up facing west from a very nice and very tiny studio apartment. I have always dreamed of having my computer next to a window with a great view, and here I am. Funny thing is it too my lovely wife a lot of patience to get me to agree to rearranging the room.

I get comfortable way too easily, I like things to stay the same... but only if I like them the way they are. Why try something new when this is working just fine right? Is this me? I wouldn't describe myself that way.

We have made many many many MANY friends here in Chicago! This is due to God blessing us with such a fantastic church, Destination. And though we know we are in God's will and he has provided so much support in those friends, I can't help but sometimes miss friends of old. Some of which I may not see for a long while... Jon.

I still have not fully come to terms with his death here on Earth (side note: today is Earth Day). I feel like he is just somewhere else like he has been the past few years, and that I will seem him again soon. This line of thinking might not be too far off.

So today is also Good Friday, and a market Holiday. Day off FTW! So I am doing some work on what I hope someday to be my self employment. Though I do think more lately God has a plan for me being at my current job (well I know he has a plan, but you know what I am saying).

Time certainly gets the best of you. It is now May. Tiffany and I have been engaged since November! We are getting married on July 30th. I am in the process of obtaining a job in Chicago. She is finishing one last class for her career here at IWU.

I should be working on a few things right now, but I have no desire to. Freelancing has treated me wonderfully, it is very flexible.

I am of course always looking for a new idea to execute, that hasn't changed. What has though is my commitment. Something I dislike greatly and desire to avoid any chance I get. I can no longer take great risks as well, tied in with this commitment. I am voluntarily shackling myself to a 9-5. I censored this post. I am getting married. Things I never thought I would do so soon.

But I also never though of the trade off. I never thought of her. I did not think that Love like this existed. All the things I imagined my future wife to be are contentiously blown away. We share many passions, and love to debate those we don't. I am so thankful.

But alas, I am tired. We stay up late and play internet checkers... She kicks my butt daily.

What a Crazy World

Again, it has been ages since I have posted something, or so it seems. I moved about a month a half ago to Marion, IN. Life here is fantastic. I live with Lee, Eric and Tom. People are always over and that rocks.

Rereading through the posts, I did get that job at Camp Burton and was gone pretty much all Summer. Tiffany was too though, in Africa for 2 months. Wow that was hard and seems like so so long ago. It really has been quite a trip since she got back. She went to DC for a few days about 2 weeks after she got home, then back for a day, then I went camping the the Adirondacks in NY for a week. Her greatgrandpa died and we made it back just in time for me to shower for 5 min and head to the funeral. Thanks guys for driving all night to get me back home after climbing a mountain (literally).

This is really all just reiteration for later place in time.

Freelancing is going well for me, God has really blessed me. I had a interview the first weekday I was out here with a web design company. They gave me some contract work and I have been working with them since. Other jobs just keep coming randomly. The people I have been working with are very helpful to me and it really is just a huge blessing.

I am saving up for this shiny rock to put on my girls finger... that might be fun to look at later. haha

Honestly life is great and I am loving it. I need to figure out what to teach on Sunday for the jr. high at God's house though..

Changing my AIM screen name today for the first time since a bit before I started High School. that is about 7 years. Wow. It is quite odd how I can go through the buddy list and remember almost all of them and put a face to them. Oh well.

So I don't understand Love at all by the way, it really can conquer all. I have much to learn about it.

Also, chances of working at Camp Burton this year are looking good!

Love Drives

With an empty stomach, that is pretty mad at me for drinking redbull and eating plain tortilla chip crumbs, I sit here and write. Just came home from a mini LAN at Dan G's. Chris and I went late and played a few WC3 mods. The redbull was free, and the crumbs leftover.

I am writing because I need to. I need to translate some thoughts into binary for current and later analysis or remembrance. I Love Tiffany Fox. I said it, and will say it again. I love her.

I told her for the first time the other night in the oddest way. We were on the couch watching a little family guy, and during a commercial I said it with no thought of saying it. Unromantic, but I had to say it. We both felt it long before then, but that is when it was it was first officially said in full.

I have seen her almost everyday since she has been home. It's been amazing. Sadly thought she has 2 weeks to get ready and leave for Africa. I would be lying if I told you I wasn't worried. I am. But I trust God that he has our best interests in mind. He certainly has proved that so far.

Since God made her, I know he's in love with me. Super duper cheesy cliche line! It speaks volumes of truth.

Let me tell you something. God is crazy. He certainly works in ways you would not imagine, and often when you are not expecting.

Yes Internets, I have met a girl.

Her name is Tiffany. She is the most amazing girl I have ever met. I can honestly and truly say that.

I visited her at IWU this weekend, and had one of the best weekends ever. We went to the park for while.. and she lost her keys. We looked everywhere for awhile, but eventually someone came to get us. She was embarrassed, but it was funny, and made it more memorable haha!

We also went to Indianapolis Saturday night, saw her friend, got lost, had a intense conversation, walked around, neglected to pay for parking, came back, got tacos and had an over all amazing time.

I am incredibly excited about what the future holds. You have no idea!

God please bless this relationship. Help us to draw closer to you, and to glorify you through all we do. Amen.

My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me.

Oh geeze. Dashboard Confessional. Can be quite depressing.

So lets see... I graduated about 2.5 months ago, and I still have no job. I have been looking everywhere, and pretty much given up on the idea of using my degree right now in this job market. Time to keep looking Monday though.

Random thought: I think photo journalism would be a sweet job.

So last night I hung out with a friend and 2 other friends who happen to be engaged. I wont mention any names. My one friend left because she had other plans. So it was me and them again and that gets depressing. Being around people who have great relationships when you don't. I am happy for them, I honestly am. But I can only take so much of it haha. Someday though. Maybe.

I have kinda been talking with a girl who I can tell is interested somewhat, but lives a few hours away. And it would be rather insane, but I just want to drive to her right now and throw caution to the wind. Just like a movie. Which is cool to an extent, but life is not a movie. I think I have trouble separating movie relationships from real life ones sometimes. Also, not being in the word as much this past week has allowed me to misplace all of my hope into her. That must change.

So if you do read this, that is interesting. This is just me allowing my thoughts to be transformed into binary data. Pretty cool I guess.

Glad I started this blog, it is great to see how my thought process has changed over the years. Ya, that makes me sound old.

Currently in life:
No Job - just a little random cash coming in here and there.
No School - I graduated fool.
No Life - ..that's not true.

A lot of work with websites recently, tiring, but needed to be done. My passion for gaming has risen again to help kill productivity. Living in RL still not live, but hopefully soon.

It will be interesting to see what life holds after this Summer. Certainly I pray I don't wander after, "The American Dream." At the rate were going, there may be no America for those dreams anyway.

Sigh.. I'm hungry.

What is wrong with us? We are entertained far beyond what people years ago could have only imagined. We are masters in the art of escapism! We don't care because we have better things to do, they are more fun, and certainly more convenient.

Our country is going downhill so fast, but we turn a blind eye, if we even notice it at all. Each day it seems there is some law, buried among a few hundred page bill, that takes another piece of our freedom from us. We are stuck in a war that will never end, and our money might as well be worth less than used toilet paper soon. Yet we yawn and take a nap.

I have heard it said that our generation still has time to, "find its face." I am beginning to wonder if that person was high. When will we do something to shape the world, to stand up for what is right, to wake up to the real world around us? Do they have to start the draft and take away our internet?

Sleep on my generation, sleep on.

It has been many months since I have written in this, and I think I am currently writing more for myself rather than for others, but feel free read.

Currently finished watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, it has spurred this late night venture into deep though and beyond. Along with that it, it has encouraged this writing, or transformation of thoughts into pixels if you will.

First and foremost I would like to thank God for freedom and freewill, without it this post would not be possible. I have so much to learn, but more on that later, if I feel it is necessary.

Second of all, the movie invoked a lot of thought about previous relationships. Thought of Rachelle, who just had her baby this past week (I still don't think I fully understand that). We had a deep and complicated relationship, but I wouldn't give up those memories for anything. I often miss the companionship we had though, it was really a blast.

Also had many thoughts of Suzi. You would think that something so short would have forgotten or buried in the deepest parts of my mind by now. Crazy thing is I had a dream about her not too long ago and didn't realize it till the middle of that day and it was very strange to remember it out of no where like that. Along that very same line I just remembered that a few months ago there were a few nights in a row where I had dreams of her, very real dreams. I don't know if it really means anything, so I just pray for her.

Why is it that I put Dashboard Confessional on when I write in this thing? How emo of me. Well I do know the reason this time, it's because I saw the title of a previous post entitled Hands Down, which just so happens to be what is playing now. The reason I listened to it last time had to do with a certain someone named Diana.

Continuing with that topic I still want to visit her sometime soon. If nothing else she would be a great friend. Speaking of friends, people are getting back from school, and it is very exciting to have them around. It is also interesting not knowing how I feel about a certain one of them and not wanting to mess a great friendship up for something I am not even sure I would want in the first place. Girls seem to be the topic of this post, that is sad.

For future references, or for those who read this for fun, here are things going on in my life currently:

Alex and I are looking to film the first Episode of Living In RL in about 2 weeks.
First moderator for LegitTorrents chosen this past week.
Alex graduates in a few weeks.
Lee's house should be on the market in a day.
Brain Bros EP should be done soon.
Hosted the first ever Wired show at Berean this past Friday.

Life is so full of uncertainties that sometimes I wish it would stay the same for awhile. Changes everywhere I turn, life so crazy. Thank God I can rely on him and the promises he has made.

These are strange times they say; I say. What is this thing called life? How are we to live it? I know how, but its the process that can be strange and difficult to understand. Everything happens for a reason, and happens according to God's will. I believe this to the full extent. Understanding in the struggle, if it is even meant to be understood at this time.

Why do I long for a female companion? Why? Why anything? Lost in thought.

Another lonely Holiday season? Am I only doing this to myself?

Everyone is gone for college... trying to find new people to hang out with. I can still have fun with new people, but as many people who are at college tell me, it's just not the same. Can it ever be?

I guess not, which is kind of depressing, but that part of life I guess. At lease I can rest in the fact that most of my closest friends will be in Heaven with me. What a day that will be!

I have a strong desire for my art to be known, for myself to be known. While I'm sure this is quite normal, it is also stray from what my strongest desire should be, to make Jesus known more than anything. I can do that through my art and if I do become famous (fat chance I know), but sometimes it is easy to let my desires get in the way.

I want to travel Europe by myself for awhile, with a camera. I know I can't afford it, but I some how could, it would be amazing.

A lot has happened since I last posted... I didn't die in Philly. It was amazing!

Just got back from Canada, that too was incredible! I'm not sure I will post pictures from either of those trips, cause I don't think anyone really reads this!

Crazy Days (And Stolen Work)

Finals this week, it has been crazy. A lot of parties last weekend, and again this weekend, good stuff. Rachelle is going away, not fun, but pray for her. I will see her one last time before she goes, tomorrow night.

My tummy is nice and full after a bowl of chunky soup, grilled cheese, and chocolate milk. T'was a nice change from my usual ramen noodle and hotdogs.

In other news, school is almost done, going to the art center tomorrow for a class, should be pretty fun! I'm an art nerd, I know.

Spencer gets home tomorrow, that should be fun as well. Having everyone coming back home for the summer is going to be so much fun. I missed them all very much. It is hard to believe it has already been a year since we graduated... Crazy.

In other other news, God rocks, and nothing feels better to be where he wants you doing what he wants you to do.

Sort of a sad day to start the week off. Switched everything back to my old server because of problems no one can seem to help me solve. Realized I only ate 2 meals all weekend (not counting snacks), but I guess that's the college life...

Was talking with my friend today about the lack of women in our lives... and we joked about it a little... But Saturday as I was filming a wedding I saw the couple and how in love with each other they were, and you could just see it in their eyes as they danced their first dance, and the many after that...

So I'm not saying I want a girlfriend right now, I don't think I could handle that. I don't feel spiritually fit to lead someone. But loneliness factor is always lingering, and it's hard. Pray for me.

Too Late to Think Straight?

Nah, it is never too late, or early depending on how you view 5:30 am.

All I can really think about is how good God is. To be sitting here at a friends house after a great LAN party, food at my disposal, temperature warm enough to sustain me and blankets if I get cold. No immediate threats to my survival. It's almost disgusting that I can have so much and rarely care for those who don't.

"The world's 225 richest people now have a combined wealth of $1 trillion. That's equal to the combined annual income of the world's 2.5 billion poorest people."

I read that just now, pretty pathetic. The top 2% of the people own over half the worlds wealth (source). Awesome! Think of all they could do... If they could stand to open their eyes, but they can't the light is too bright. How have almost 7000 people died of hunger already today (today being the past 6 hours) and go unnoticed by everyone that will read this (source).

I often ponder how much our society, our government, our nation, our world, our interests have gone to pot. Apathy has taken over. So much so that you probably don't even care that is has. Our government is corrupt, they lie, they cheat, and the mislead us on almost all topics. Americans are ignorant, lazy and over weight. War tears us apart daily, from VA Tech to Darfur. And all we can think about is all the worthless crap we use to fill up our lives.

I could gone on forever giving examples of deception and lies and unneeded deaths and malnutrition. But the point is no one cares, no one is willing to help. I strongly urge you to prove me wrong. Do something to change our world.

Perhaps something small at first, remember Hate Kills, Love Heals.

What Are You Called For?

Interesting question to ask yourself, I ask myself that question a lot. The past 2 weeks have been great. Road trip to Georgia, was amazing. I should get the pictures tonight (a few thousand worth) and will write a very lengthy post about it. Truly a great experience.

So what has God called me to do in my short life here on Earth? Well I have so many thoughts about it, its insane. I'd love to produce movies, or star in them at some point in life, I'd like to be in a band, and sing... although I don't think I can that well. I want to go over seas and do missions work, I want to own a company, or several. So many things. How do you decipher what God wants? I guess I've been taught to just pray and read the word, look for signs. I don't get in the word enough though... Do you?

Life is not easy, but don't dwell so much on the future that you miss the present.

Congrats to the team on another fine release, and to everywhere on the forums who also pitch in. This is truly one of the best open source CMS projects going on today.

Torrop has a brand new style, a moded yget template. The only thing that might change is a light gradient added in the background. It is also much faster thanks to improvements in Pligg. Check it out!

So life is a bit lame at this point in time. College is boring, haven't learned more than 2 things this year, most frustrating of all is that my web design teacher is a total noob. I am very disliked by the person I once loved. I have no money, which isn't a big deal other than I would like some money to start up a new project.

Speaking of which, I have several new project ideas, and I'd love to buy domains, but yea... I'm that broke.

Open Source and Creative Commons are becoming more of a passion of mine... Lame I guess, but I've come to the unofficial conclusion that if Jesus was alive today he would use open source.

Torrop is doing well, and will be getting a complete redesign with the release of Pligg 9.1. Legit Torrents got a domain, LegitTorrents.info. Virdesk is still taking off very slowly, so spread the word!

Life may be lame at this point and time, but I still am excited about what God will do in the future with some of my recent ideas.

For Frodo

I finally watched all of the Lord of the Rings movies, yes as in for the first time.

I can't help but wounder what it would have been like to act in this amazing set of movies. The cast would have to have been in character almost the entire time, and months before hand as well. Thus they became the characters.

So what happened to honor and fighting for country even in the face of sure loss, what happened to taking a risk with your life so that the rest of middle earth might have a slight chance? Well maybe not that last one. But my point is that no one stands for anything in the world today.

The amount of brotherhood the fellowship displays is almost tear jerking, to know they are there even in the face of death.. I will also admit that I did shead some tears in the very last part of the return of the king (third one).

I often placed myself in Frodo's position (people used to say I looked like him when my hair was shorter) and Dan Counterman in Sams (not just because they look alike lol). In almost every situation Sam helped Frodo out, doing anything for him, and I can honestly say that I know Dan would have done the same for me, and I just want to thank him for that if he ever reads this.

So now I have the urge to live in a fantasy world where there are nice elven princesses waiting to be kissed, battles to be fought (in which I charge the front line every time and still live), and no apparent drinking age. But alas it is but a dream.

Weekend Review

This weekend was a lot of fun. I wasn't going to go, but Steve said he needed me to drive some people back early. They ended up having their plans canceled, so I stayed the whole time, so I guess God wanted me there. It was at a different place than last year, so it wasn't quite the same, especially with out Rachelle.

I still think about her all the time, but she is stranded in Florida. Please pray that she finds a way to come home soon. My life is very empty without her here.

Virtenu is going well, we've seen a lot of traffic increasing lately.

Back to College We Go...

Back to college here in a day and I am not looking forward to that one bit. New Year was interesting... Learned how naive I can be at times.. Hope everyone had a good one.

I've also learned lately that a lot of crap gets talked in the Church, guess you don't notice it until its all about you and the people you care for. Boo on that. That is why I'm moving with someone to Ireland, or Amsterdam.. But we are not going to stay at the Hostel... That is the worst movie ever, it's just sick. Normally I like movies like that, but no It's gay. Actually turned it off before finishing it.

Rachelle left for Florida today, to get her stuff and bring it home. Pray that she has a safe trip!

Life is not easy. So much going on, so much not going on. So much that should happen but doesn't, so much that shouldn't happen, but does. Don't let yourself end up like me. Straight of out high school with a whole world full of regret. Guess you just need to turn back to what matters.

Here is a verse I will share with you, means something to me right now, maybe it will to you too:

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;"

Talk to him, yell at him, argue with him. Perhaps you can change his heart? I wish I could find the verse that talks about David praying and changing the heart of God (if you know it, please tell me!). Which is quite strange in itself seeing as he is God and has everything planned already ect. Think about that.

Here are some updates in the world I live:

I still have no Job. Hopefully that will change tomorrow. I am still single, that will probably never change. I am getting distracted by the Travel Channel.

Saturday night, Chris, Lee, Dan, Ty and myself camped out at Toys R' Us for the Wii pre-orders. We were told the manager would hand them out at 7:00 when he got there. An hour later we decided to just go to Church since we were all wet and freezing (it was snowing out). Long story short I have no pre-order, gay.

Anyway, after nodding off a few times in service (thanks to Bekah for hitting me and keeping me awake!) we all went out to Chipotle! It being Bekah's time and other Church's having free burrito coupons, most of us ate free.

Today I did pretty much nothing as usual, but I did get around to doing some more art:

Fall Advance 2006 was great!! I went as a leader this year, and loved every moment of it. Well, it was a bit sad at once point to realize that a year ago all my senior friends were there with me, but other than that it was good!

My back is currently angry with me for sleeping a hard wood bench that was right under the window for 2 days. All the cots and bunks were full. I met a lot of new friends (new to me anyways) and got to bond with some old.

My friend that works at circuit city said I should be getting hired, so I hope that works out tomorrow, I need the cash! Adsense is great, but my sites aren't that popular lol. Speaking of which, Torrop is doing well still! Just need more people to get their hands dirty by submitting and voting! Also, Legit Torrents is growing too! I recently redesigned it, tell me what you think of the new look.

I need sleep now.

My First Digg Experience

My first Digg experience was quite a surprise to say the least. I come home from seeing a movie, with Steeltitanpro, to find my server going crazy. So I thought to myself that it must either be backing up at a time I've never told it to, or I'm being hacked. So I try to get on one of my websites, and nothing. I even try to login on the physical machine, and it's almost non-responsive. I restart it, look to see if I've lost anything, I hadn't. So I wait a few minuets, until it starts doing it again. Then I check Digg in the crazy event that one of my websites had been Dugg. Torrop was on the front page.

I was very excited that people actualy liked my site well enough as to share it with the rest of the world. But that feeling slowly faded as I realized my server was dieing. I had never thought in my wildest dreams that I would receive so much traffic all at once!

So I quickly looked for ways to try and keep the site online, but found none. So I reluctantly set up a temp page saying we had been Dugg and to come back later. I kept it up for quite a while, then tried to take it down and let the site run free again! Still, the server couldn't handle it, crazy. But a few hours later I seceded in putting it all back online and we are running fine still. From the temp page alone, this is what Google Analytics shows:

Makes the rest of my traffic look like nothing (wasn't much anyway).

Lessons Learned:

1. Sucess is sweet, but sweeter if you can handle it.
2. You never know when you will get Dugg.
3. Diggers don't click ads.

As for the future of Torrop? Thats another post, look for it!

Success doesn't mean as much when the one you love isn't here to share it with you. As of this week things are going great, Torrop was on Digg, and I had a job interview. Both great things, but since Rachelle isn't here it just doesn't mean as much to me... I really just want her to come home...

It doesn't make it any easier that I don't do anything all day. I don't have a job, and I don't go to school right now either. I sit. I sit here and wish, hope, and pray that she will come back soon.

Tonight I was going to make a nice college of Rachelle and I from the pictures on both our blogs (my hard drive caught on fire if u don't remember). And I just finished downloading them, but I don't think I will be able to even start making it without crying. I know it's weird, I'm a guy and all, but I honestly don't think I could do it. If it wasn't for stupid college, and still knowing I have a purpose here, I would be down there this second. I also really regret going on that camping trip, I would have loved to stay there for a month or so.

But I guess you never really realize how much you love someone until you don't have them there everyday with you. I realize now how that was so amazing. Waking up every morning to be with her... Wow.

Hopefully I will finish that collage soon.

Living An Empty Life.

That's what I guess I've been doing as of recent, trying to fill time up, and really just doing nothing because there is nothing to do. Sure, I Pwn like real hard, but you can only pwn so much.

I miss Rachelle, a lot. She would never let me pwn so much, thus I wouldn't be so empty, well kind of.

God and I don't talk as much as we should, but that is going to change, well, just did.

I bring you friends, eBible! It is web 2.0 + Bible. It is really nice, I going to try and visit that site and read it every day, since it seems to be the only place I read is online.

I can see God working here in Mansfield, but my one lingering question remains, when will I be done here? I almost want it to be right now, but I don't think that's God's plan. I long to be with Rachelle, and he knows that, I just have to be patient I guess.

So we leave in 1 day for Florida, it will be interesting to say the least.

Tonight we had a going away party for Chelle at our house, and she was baptized. It was cool :) <3

And tonight, after talking to Steven Mitchel for awhile, we just kinda chilled on our computers, me playing GTA:SA Multiplayer, and her talking to a kid from myspace that lives where she will be living.

After I took her home though, around 2, I decided to work on Torrop of all projects. But guess what, it works! I am almost done with it really, I just need to do some more editing, not sure if I will mess with the template just yet, it looks alright.

And Rachelle is moving to Florida... Not for good, just until she's 18 or graduates. That's 6 months or more with out her. I guess this is the final test on our relationship, well not the final hopefully, but the final one until it perhaps becomes more... I hope. Any who, it's going to be hard, but I know we will make it through.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been working at UPS everyday now... It's getting old.

I may start working at Toys R' Us though. I had the interview today, and find out Monday if I got the job or not.

Dayton Lanfest this weekend people!!! After much delay, it is finally here. We (KOLT) (aka our LAN group) will be competing in the 5 v 5 Call Of Duty 2 Tournament. Hopefully we will win and bring home $400 bucks or more. It will rock!

I will defiantly be posting from Dayton to let you all know what's going on, although I may not post until a very ugly (or beautiful depending on how you look at it) hour, so look for that.

Back From New Mexico

Where to start... Well for one, you don't realize how much Ohio sucks until you get out of it. Haha. New Mexico rocked. People there are normal, have less than most of the United States, but rock. I actually became mad when it was time to leave. And all of today (when I got home home) I was confused.

I didn't want to be home, there is still work to be done there. Yes we accomplished all we wanted and much more, but there is still a lot of work to be done there spiritually. I hope to go back soon.

On the way home on and off I was angry, angry that I had 'stuff'. Don't get me wrong, they have stuff as well, but I guess it's just the nicer stuff that bothers me most. The way most of us throw our money around like it's nothing. As I was returning home I thought to myself that it's almost like I hate what I once loved, wanted, took for granted, thought I needed.

This is why I want to live out of my car for a few months. Just traveling around the U.S. Being a gospel mobile if you will.

As much as I resent being home, I do recognize that God has me here for a reason, and I need to do what he asks of me in Ohio.

Whew. That being said, the trip was great, and I will probably post all of the things written in my journal.

One quick highlight was that I prayed the prayer of salvation with this little girl. It went so well, so simple, only God could have done it. He is Amazing.

Leaving Today

I leave for New Mexico today, should be fun!

I will defiantly miss Rachelle and everyone, and also this nice thing they call the internet.

While I'm down there I plan on keeping a pad of paper and writing down all my thoughts, should turn out to be interesting. I may post some parts of that when I return.

Please pray for all of us who are going. Pray that we would do God's will, and that hearts would be changed.

I can't wait to share everything with you when I return (on the 16th). All your prayers are very much appreciated.

A lot of Christian Bands go Unheard.

I've discovered that just now, I've found extensive lists of tons of 'unheard' Christian bands. I say unheard because I've never herd of most of them. And I'm quite sure most of them don't have recording contracts, although some are that good. But I view this as a good thing, I despise the RIAA. Hopefully the future wont consist of them.

Any way, here is one band I found that was really good, so I'm going to share them with you!

Get it while its hot!

So I didn't have power for a few days, so sorry if you needed to access things on the sites.

Today Rachelle and Alex and (everyone else basically) left for the Kentucky missions trip. It was sad to say good-bye, but I did. It's a lot worse sitting here knowing I wont see her for what will seem like forever. She really does mean a lot to me. But distance makes the heart grow fonder as they say (thanks Grandma! Haha). And I'm sure that God is going to do amazing things with all of them down there this week as well.

Also, kind of weird, missing having little brother around... Wanted to play a game with him, but he's gone too.

UPS is up in the air right now, wandering if I'm going to be on call all the time. If so, it's new job time.

I'm addicted to this new game called Slave Hack now, it was on Digg the other day.

And another game you might actually find interesting called Zwok.

Left Behind - No Spyware, Just the Future of In-Game Advertisement

A recent article on Digg (written by Technica) tires to convince people that the innovative in-game advertisement software in the game Left Behind, is spyware. It clearly is not. From the article:

"The game comes fully loaded with what some would term built-in spyware, in the form of in-game advertising that tracks the amount of time ads are seen, how often the game is played, and the player's geographical and personal information."

They say that some would term.

From Dictionary.com "spyware - (Or "adware") Any type of software that transmits information without the user's knowledge." I'm sure if you read that fine print when your installing, it will tell you about it there.

Even this quote by Double Fusion, quoted in their article, explains that it isn't:

"All Double Fusion campaigns provide detailed campaign reporting for full accountability, and, unlike other media, advertisers only pay for the time their ads are seen...unlike TV, unlike the web, and unlike print. No medium is more accountable and measurable in terms of the actual time spent with advertising."

"Double Fusion's In-Game Ad Engine is a software component that gamer developers insert in their games. The Ad Engine is the seamless interface between the game and the advertiser servers, and works as a broker between the two, calling advertising creative elements as needed, providing them to the game to be displayed as ads in the game, and tracking impressions and views and reporting back to the advertising management servers."

This is just simply great news for the gaming community. Why? Because this could mean lower costs for games. Also, as it becomes more common, good news for open source games as well. This could provide a way for them to step into the arena and compete better with major studios.

Also, they wrote in their article, "...surveys of gamers show that advertising in games is effective and generally unobtrusive if done properly..."

The advertising in Left Behind is a good thing, and hopefully a sign of things to come. I can't wait to see it in action.

Hello World!

I haven't made any art lately. I should sometime.

I've been trying to learn some PHP today to help code a new game I'm working on with some friends. I'll post more about that when I can.

Chelle has court tomorrow, hopefully everything will work out alright.

I get to call into work again at 3:10am to get told I am not needed, again. I'm about to look for another job it this is how it's going to be.

It would be nice to be able to make something of this game career wise.

I feel tired and apathetic, I'm going to go to bed soon.

I Heart Bit Torrent.

I love Bit Torrent. I just do. I also love LAMP (I doubt anyone that usually reads my blog will really get that) . I have a plan in my head I'm working out on how companies can embrace this new technology. More on that later.

Tonight A bunch of people and myself watched DOOM at Dan's house. It wasn't a bad movie like most people said, brought back some old memories of playing the game. That was when I was just a little n00b.

I remember the first real game (and one of the best) was Battle Zone for PC. I think it was only offered with Gateway machines for a while, a shame the limited a great game to a crappy company. But I can't complain, it was a PC. Good news is some people actually still play this game, (made around '95) and are also working on recreating it as an open source project. I think limited beta testing will start this summer/fall. Here is the site (look in the forums for more information on their project).

So that's about it other than I'm going to do a bit of work on the server for Virtenu.
