Why Ugly Design Works... And Why Most Designers Miss the Point

"Interesting blog entry (by a designer) supporting the "ugly design" theory. Contains some links to some other good discussions and articles on the subject."

A good read for all web designers out there.

"By a 22-to-34 vote, members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee rejected a Democratic backed Net neutrality amendment that also enjoyed support from Internet and software companies including Microsoft, Amazon.com and Google."

Cheers! The internet is saved, for now.

Save the Internet

Congress is pushing a law that would abandon Network Neutrality, the Internets First Amendment. Network neutrality ensures that the public can view the smallest blog just as easily as the largest corporate website by preventing companies like AT&T from rigging the playing field for only the highest-paying Web sites.
[Can we stop this?]

Digg Corrupted: Editor's Playground, not User-Driven Website at Forever Gee

"I read Digg for a couple of weeks and gave it up long ago -- as I've told friends privately, I felt it was simply slashdot with a smile instead of a sneer, but with the same basic social flaws that make it pretty useless for me. It looks like Digg's sneer has appeared, and it's going to become Slashdot, not improve on it."

Very intresting read... Could it be?

AT&T and Verizon: We Own Your Congress

"Wonder why AT&& and other telcos are winning the net neutrality debate, and just about every other issue that comes before government? It's simple: Money talk. Telcos spent a whopping $60 million in lobbying money just at the federal level, second only to the health care industry, Business Week reports."

Sick isn't it? How our great Democracy can be compromised by such greed?

Updating...

I've been busy with school and work, oh so much fun... Not.

I am on spring break though, that's a good thing. I have been enjoying sleeping in and such.

As for Chelle, she is amazing... I couldn't ask for more. Lately Her my Brother and I have been playing Gauntlet Legends, it's addicting.

Virtenu should be getting 2 new projects in the near future, both involving the use of torrents.

Now = Time for sleep.

God bless,

Numa Numa Global Tribute

"Word is that Gary Brolsma is miserable these days, approx 1.5 years after his Numa Numa video went nuts and was viewed by approx. everybody. That's a shame -- the video was so joyful. So, I was glad to see the Google Current team here at Current (where I work) put this together... the Numa Numa Global Tribute. Thanks, Gary."

Salute!

Michigan Violent Games Law Thrown Out!

"The Entertainment Software Association gained another victory today as Judge George Caram Steeh struck down the Michigan law previously attempted to ban the sale of certain games to minors, ruling the law unconstitutional based on lack of evidence linking violent video games to actual acts of violence. Take THAT Hilary Clinton!"

Some of that!
